HMC346LP3 and HMC346LP3E are p-absorbing voltage variable attenuators (VVA) in low-cost lead-free surface mount plastic packages, operating at dc-14 GHz. It has an on-chip reference attenuator that can be used with an external operational amplifier to provide simple single voltage attenuation control, 0 to -3v. This device is ideal in designs where the analog DC control signal must control the RF signal level over a 30 dB amplitude range. This VVA is a good alternative to HMC121C8.
